The Smartbook Smartkid mission is to help kids grow up to be the smart, confident leaders of tomorrow. We do this by combining the reading technology of the 21st century with the world’s best practices in cognitive education to produce interactive books which give children a head start over their peers.
Responsible E-learning
Our goal is to teach children how to interact responsibly with computers. These days it’s hard to find ways for more than one person to use the computer at once, and most children are allowed to choose their own viewing material. Parents can supervise and software can screen out bad sites but what do children really choose to view? They play games and post on social mediasites. It’s a lot of fun but do you really want your child playing games under the guise of education? Sure they like it. They also like ice cream for breakfast but that’s not what is best for the child. The simple fact is children don’t know how to make good choices (about food or computer viewing) and parents need to demonstrate constructive Internet viewing. This is one of the main purposes of the Smartbook Smartkid site. Smartbook Smartkid will demonstrate for parents and children how the Internet can enrich their lives and lift them up, while also spending some family time together.
